i was actually watching the news about that, and how people use that to track u down. From my understanding, they keep ur phone records up to 10 years i believe, and even longer depending on if the government is tracing you.

They phones are all built to INDUSTRY standards, so you shuld be able to, BUT you will likely have to change the configuration. If you are a hacker, then get a Verizon phone, record it's configuration, then get a Alltel phone and duplicate it.

Yea, you can buy an Alltel phone because Verizon is not doing what Cingular did to AT&T Wireless. AT&T Wireless customers were forced to get a new phone. Verizon won't force customers until their upgrade date. Also, you will receive $ 50.00 to a new Verizon Wireless phone if you want one. You really won't notice anything until February 2009. Then, the noticeable things will be small such as your bill will say Alltel-Now Verizon Wireless. It will also allow you to get a My Verizon online account and talk to Verizon customer service about cellular issues, concerns, etc. Also, you will notice a larger spectrum of coverage. Nothing else will happen.

Alltel isn't Verizon just yet. They still have to go through a long process to complete the merger.

Anyways, buying an Alltel phone now won't matter. It'll work on Verizon. They basically have similar networks and once the merger is complete, you'll still be using the same towers as Alltel had but now with Verizon's too. So the phone will work once the merger is complete.

If the previous account was also Verizon wireless no problem. Otherwise they have to recode it . If that is possible with your particular brand.

Sure! You can often buy them off of Ebay for a good price, just make sure it is a Verizon phone. Some phones are specific for some carriers, and most have some carrier's logo on them, if a phone has a cingulair logo on it then verizon won't turn it on, they're pretty easy to find though. Good luck!

Yes it will work but you have to take the phone in to your service provider and have them give you a code to put in the phone to make it pick up the verizon sims card. If it was already a verizon phone...just put your sims card in the back of the phone and it should pick right up.

Yes you can call any Verizon cell phone and you won't get charged because you have the mobile to mobile feature. I don't know about bonus minutes from kiosks but I get 5 bonus minutes for adding money from my computer.

Well, ultimately, that depends on the phone itself, as well as what type of card you're talking about.

If you mean a SIM card, no. That won't work, according to my Alltel rep. I was considering this a while back.

If you simply mean a memory card, that will work as long as it's compatible with the phone itself.

I just got back from the mall and was looking for the same thing, alot of these places are rip offs. I went to t mobile they had plans no contract, no credit check no cancellation fees. One was 29.99 with 300 minutes and free weekends or 39.99 for 600 minutes with free nights AND weekends. And I got a nice flip phone that had all the features. Definitely go there.

Page Plus which is actually Verizon service resold, it can be as cheap as 2.50 per month, you just pay for your minutes which are between 12¢ and 5¢, there is a monthly fee of .50¢ The minutes never expire if you buy more at least every 4 months.

You can even use any Verizon phone that you may already have laying in a drawer somwhere, you can get started for about $ 8 and get 100 free minutes.

This is probably the cheapest and best prepaid right now because Verizon has such good coverage. They do not have data service right now but they are getting it next month, so you cant download ringtones yet but you can soon. You can also get free nights and weekends if you want them but they cost you .99¢ a day if you choose to get them added, otherwise there is no daily fees and no contracts, no age limits either. go to http://www.uglyeric.com

Try MetroPCS. For $ 45 a month, I get unlimited everything. If I want to skip a month, I just don't pay it, then when I'm ready, I pay the bill, and I've got my cell back almost instantly. Best deal around. Everything else is going to cost you about 10 cents/minute, plus you have to pay for text messaging, and that all adds up really fast.

The pre pay plan I think is better because it is cheaper per month, but you will have to watch your number of calls and how long each call is. the other way you will have to sign a 2year contract that binds you into a plan that will cost you more per month and cost you a lump sum to get out of it early if its not working out. I agree on Verizon being the best and having a good Pre-pay plan. I can say I have Verizon and always have more then 2 bars even in the bathroom at work. Have never had a droped call or problems with its network. Do check on the coverage in your area. I don't know the Virgin coverage in your area. I hoped this helped Good luck

pros: prepaid is really good because you don't get a bill at the end of the month, you have a limit so you don't go crazy and i find it a lot easier and less complicated.

cons: the worst thing is when you run out you have to go to a shop/ call a number and get more credit.

I'm with vodafone and it's great but most of my friends are with virgin and they love it.

I don't know about any prepaid plans, all I do is I use net 10. I pay 15 bucks for 300 minutes. A text is half a minute to send and read, and a minute per phone call. 30 bucks a month will get you 600 minutes. So it is up to you.

Phones purchased from Walmart fall under Walmart's policies, so they might charge an activation fee or something, but you can definitely use the phone on your Verizon account
